A New Era of Humans

Posted by

I don't know how to post this or where to post this and I just want to say that you probably met me at a weird time in my life so don't hold it against me. I don't know if I should post this to my personal blog or The ODIN blog, or just to Facebook. I'm tired, exhausted, working hard on lots of different crazy projects and mostly I just need a vacation. But I keep going. Not because I want to. It's really because I have to. I wish I had a choice in the matter.

The world is changing so fast now my brain struggles to keep up and so does my body. Running from place to place and project to project.

"Hi, How are you? Let's drink some whiskey really quick to dull the pain enough that I can push my body even further to the limit."

But things are starting to come together finally. I am creating beautiful things that keep me awake at night in anticipation. Sitting there chatting on Facebook with people I know will change everything.

I wake up in a haze barely able to remember my name.

I have spent >10 years of my life working in Biotechnology. And it's funny because in Biotechnology we often only use yeast, plants or bacteria but the truth is that we are always just trying to make stuff for ourselves, for humans. We want to grow as a species and maybe change as a species. Whether that is curing disease or immortality or mutant powers is up to you.

Dahhh. Struggle, grind. Making mistakes because I only slept 4 hours the last two nights and have only had red bull and beef jerky in the past 8 hours.

I wanted to make this post because one of my projects just reached a significant milestone, the Open Source Human Cell Engineering Project. I designed what I and Scientific literature thought might be the best plasmid DNA vector to introduce genes and express genes inside Human cells.

More emails. They keep piling up. I have to choose what gets my attention. Emails that ramble and ask general questions get discarded. Lovely emails that were written from the heart take time to respond because I want to respond in kind. Stupid phone ran out of batteries from so many phone calls today and I don't have a charger at work. Means I fall behind even more on emails

I want to say that I have successfully had the OpenHuman DNA synthesized, turned that DNA into a plasmid vector and sequenced it. I will begin distributing it soon with a protocol on how to add whatever gene you wish or pay someone else a few hundred dollars to add it for you.

So what does this mean?

  • It means that anyone has an inexpensive way to take any gene from any organism and effectively insert it into Human cells.
  • The plasmid DNA can be replicated in bacteria so you yourself can grow up as much as you want and distribute it to whoever for the cost of sugar.
  • This plasmid vector can be used for everything from DNA vaccines to cell line work, Follistatin overexpression to neo-antigen peptide expression.

Finally, something I am truly proud of. But I can't take a break just yet because there is still more to do.

Taking preorders that will ship in the next two weeks. Instructions on how to insert your own gene of interest coming shortly.
